List of roles & Responsiblities

There are many volunteer roles required to put on a production! Explore the range of fulfilling volunteer opportunities with us, each offering a unique way to unleash your creativity, gain new skills, and connect with amazing people. Whether you’re passionate about acting, directing, producing, joining a committee, or cooking for the cast and crew, we have a role that aligns with your interests and skills.

The Producer oversees the entire production, managing logistics, budgets, and financial commitments, ensuring timelines and commitments are met in coordination with the Director and Stage Manager. 

Detailed Description

The Director develops the artistic vision and dramatic interpretation of the script, holding final authority over all stage elements until opening night, after which the Stage Manager takes charge.

Detailed Description

The Stage Manager coordinates auditions, rehearsals, and all backstage activities, overseeing set, props, wardrobe, and technical elements. They manage the production from opening night to closing.

The Assistant Stage Manager supports the Stage Manager in all duties, including planning auditions, rehearsals, and managing set, props, and technical elements.

The Backstage Crew follows the Assistant Stage Manager’s cues to move sets, handle props, assist with costume changes, and ensure smooth scene transitions.

The Green Room Host provides food for the cast and crew, adhering to a nightly budget of up to $100.

The Musical Director oversees all musical aspects of the production, reporting to the Director.

The Choreographer creates all dance and movement for the production, working under the Director’s guidance.

Actors attend rehearsals punctually, prepare their roles diligently, and follow backstage protocols during performances, reporting to the Director and Stage Manager.

The Set Builder constructs the set according to the Set Designer’s vision, reporting to the Set Designer.

The Set Build/Strike Crew constructs and dismantles the set under the Set Builder’s direction.

The Props Coordinator sources and organizes all props, reporting to the Stage Manager and Director.

The Props Assistant helps the Props Coordinator with sourcing and organizing props.

The Head of Wardrobe designs the costumes, collaborating with the Director and reporting to the Producer.

The Wardrobe Assistant sources and maintains costumes, assisting the Head of Wardrobe and acting as a dresser during performances.

The Makeup Designer creates the makeup design, collaborating with the Director and reporting to the Producer.

The Makeup Assistant applies and sanitizes makeup under the Makeup Designer’s direction.

The Lighting Designer creates the lighting design, collaborating with the Director and reporting to the Producer.

The Audio Designer develops the sound design, collaborating with the Director and reporting to the Producer.

The Lighting Operator and Sound Operator manage lighting and sound during performances, reporting to the Stage Manager and respective designers.

The Front of House Manager sets up and tears down FOH, manages liquor licenses, bar, concessions, and recruits front of house volunteers.

The Front of House Supervisor oversees FOH operations before, during, and after performances, managing staff and handling cash deposits.

The Bartender, with ProServe certification, sets up and sells drinks before the show and during intermission, and cleans up afterward.

The Host greets guests, manages tickets and programs, sells concessions, keeps a head count, and cleans up during intermission and after the performance.
