Pine Tree Players is pleased to present The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee directed by Maxine Bennett, April 19-29, 2023 at the Canmore Miners’ Union Hall.
Get your tickets now for this highly amusing musical featuring an eclectic cast of mid-pubescent competitors played by local adults. While candidly disclosing funny and touching stories from their home life, the tween competitors spell their way through a series of bizarre words hoping to avoid the soul-crushing “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! Complete with audience participation, this award-winning production is inspired by Rachel Sheinkin’s book and energized by a live band featuring William Finn’s musical score.
The performance on Sunday April 23 will be a relaxed performance.
The performance on Friday April 28 will have the option of live audio description.
