Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need improv or acting experience?
Not at all! The drop-in is designed to welcome complete beginners as well as people with previous theatre or improv experience.
Do I have to perform?
No. You’re encouraged to participate at your own comfort level. You can always pass on a scene or game, join in later or have fun watching.
What if I make a mistake?
There’s not really such a thing—just be in the moment! There are no scripts to memorize and no expectation of perfection. “Mistakes” often lead to some of the funniest moments anyway.
Do I need to attend every week?
No. Each class is able to stand on its own. You can drop in when you’re available, and it isn’t too late to join us! Coming back each week will give you the chance to build your improv skills over time and have even more fun!
What should I bring?
Just yourself! Comfortable clothing that you can move around in freely is recommended.
Is it okay if I’m nervous?
Who isn’t? You won’t be expected to walk in and immediately perform a scene. We start together with simple games and activities and build from there. Each time you get up to perform is optional.
