Childhood friends Gerda and Cei are the closest of companions. Where Cei is brash and daring, Gerda is steady and kind. When Cei’s heart is hardened by a strange enchantment, she is stolen away by the Snow Queen. Gerda must brave the elements to rescue her, embarking on a quest across the seasons. With the help of new friends she meets along the way, Gerda must find the courage to save the world from endless winter.
Based in Scandinavian folklore, this modern adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale is a beautiful depiction of the power of love and is sure to delight audiences of all ages.
This play contains:
Themes of love, isolation, abuse, and violence;
Depictions of verbal abuse, pain, anxiety, panic, and grief;
Implication of self-harm; and
Presence of theatrical firearms and knives.
