Directing Workshop: Communicating Through Art

As a director, how do you get your vision from page, to rehearsal, to being in front of an audience? How do you communicate all that to a full team of artists? In this day long workshop, you will gain fundamental tools in directing for the stage: how to communicate with actors and designers; early stages of planning a show; how to direct in a way that is collaborative but concise.

Professional director Kathryn Smith will facilitate this workshop and celebrate the art directing – especially the challenging parts!

This workshop is intended for anyone interested in the process of directing, including actors and designers. No prior directing experience is required.

This workshop is offered through the Theatre Alberta Workshops by Request: Hometown Series.
