Theatre Design Workshop

Theatre design brings the world of a play to life. In this full day workshop with Narda McCarroll, explore the process of set and costume design for the stage. You will learn how to find clues and ideas in a script, how to assemble a costume or set design and key things to consider in the process. 

Narda’s work for the world premiere of Vimy  by Vern Theissen at The Citadel Theatre in Edmonton will be explored as a case study. This workshop will be excellent for anyone interested in designing sets and costumes or with an interest in fashion or decorating.

This workshop is intended for anyone interested in theatre design, including directors, actors and set builders. No prior design experience is required.

Narda is a set, costume and lighting designer based in Calgary, Alberta. She has an MFA in theatre design from the University of Alberta. Since her graduation in 2000 she has worked steadily in Alberta and across the country on over 100 productions. To learn more about Narda please visit https://narda.ca
