CANMORE SUMMER THEATRE FESTIVAL AUDITIONS

The Canmore Summer Theatre Festival (CSTF) is an annual outdoor theatre festival. A unique aspect of the CSTF is that volunteers from Pine Tree Players perform alongside and learn from theatre professionals and emerging artists.
 
This year, the CSTF team is excited to present Anne of Green Gables by Ashley Griffin, based on the novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery, directed by Chelsea Howell-Fellows and Little Women by Marian De Forest, adapted from the story by Louisa M Alcott, directed by Shelby Reinitz. Performances will take place outdoors at the Stan Rogers Stage in Centennial Park, Canmore.

The key dates are as follows:

  • Rehearsals – start April 12, Sundays 10AM-6PM; Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00-9:30PM, adding in Saturdays 10AM-6PM starting on June 6.
  • Tech/Dress Rehearsals – July 3-6
  • Festival Run – The Festival Run is July 8-19, with performances of Anne of Green Gables at 1pm and Little Women at 7pm. There are no performances on July 13 and 14.

ABOUT ANNE OF GREEN GABLES

The beloved story of Green Gables brought to life by the students of grown-up Anne’s classroom! This Canadian classic rooted in the heart of community reminds us that finding one’s place in the world is a journey best traveled with the support and love of others.

  • Youth drunkeness (inadvertent)
  • Death of a family member

ABOUT LITTLE WOMEN

This play tells Louisa May Alcott’s classic tale of awakening in a simple and effective manner. Beautiful, amusing, and meaningful, this telling of the March sisters’ pivotal years on the verge of womanhood imparts cheer and hope for the goodness of mankind.

No matter your experience or background, we encourage you to bring your unique voice to our stage. We encourage auditions from performers of all backgrounds, regardless of age, race, colour, national origin, age, religion, creed, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

You have the option of doing an in-person audition or sending us a video. In-person auditions will take place in Canmore February 24 and 26, 2026.
