This 3-day intensive, taught by Intimacy Directors International (IDI) Lead Instructor Rachel Flesher, explores the foundational work and implementations of theatrical intimacy for the stage. Areas of focus include techniques for advocacy such as communication and consent, as well as techniques for choreography, safety, and best practices. This intensive workshop will dive deeply into the craft and artistry of Intimacy Direction and help establish IDI’s 5-pillar method as a standard of practice in the theatre.
This workshop is open to any and all in the theatre, including performers, stage managers, administrators, producers, designers, and more. Participants should be prepared to participate in exercises from the perspective of actors. Please note – intimate touch is never required, and modifications are always provided and welcomed.
