Pine Tree Players is pleased to present Five Women Wearing the Same Dress by Alan Ball, directed by Lauren Hawkeye. This dramedy, by the creator of Six Feet Under and True Blood, is set at the home of the bride during the newly married couple’s ostentatious wedding reception. The five bridesmaids have found refuge in the room of the sister of the bride. The women come to realize that despite their differences, they have more in common with each other than any of them do with the bride.

Audience Considerations: Trigger warning for discussion of sexual abuse and abortion. Mature subject matter, sexuality and coarse language. Suggested for ages 14+.

Following a lengthy discussion, the PTP board has made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person performances of Five Women Wearing the Same Dress. Please know that we did not make this decision lightly. As a community organization we have a responsibility to keep our volunteers and audience members safe. Canmore is sandwiched between areas that are on enhanced COVID-19 watch, including Banff, Rocky View County and Calgary, and as such the board feels we need to be proactive in reducing opportunities for potential transmission.

At the moment we still plan to premiere the online stream on Friday November 20 at 7:30pm. We will continue to monitor the situation and reassess our plans as new information and guidelines are released.
